Looking for a fun summer dessert that the kids can help make? Well here it is! We substituted Lucky Charms cereal to make the standby rice krispie snack recipe that we all make on occasion. You could actually use any cereal in place of the Lucky Charms but we liked the colorful addition of those fun marshmallows. The kids can help make their own dessert once the ingredients are mixed together. They absolutely loved this dessert!
You Will Need:
- 1 pkg. Mini Marshmallow (10 oz)
- 3 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine
- 7 cups Lucky Charms
- Ice Cream
What to Do:
Melt butter/margarine over low heat and add in marshmallows. Stir until everything is melted together. Remove from heat, then, quickly, stir in the cereal. Pour a blob of the mixture into each bowl and then let kids press the mixture against the sides of the bowl, forming a Lucky Charms bowl. It helps to butter the spoon so that the mixture doesn't stick to the spoon.
Once the bowl has cooled and set, you can either serve ice cream with your dessert still in the bowl, or carefully remove your "edible bowl" onto a plate. Add ice cream and sprinkles. A fun dessert to serve anytime!
