Safe Cleaning Products for your Home

Even You and Your Family can Go Green with very little effort.

As a mom, I am always thinking of ways to make sure my kids learn to appreciate the land and our Earth. I am also a parent who wants to make sure I am bringing the least hazardous products into our home and, of course, I want to do my part on trying to minimize the negative impact we each have on the Environment.
I believe, for most of us, going green is a process. We begin by taking a small, often simple step to do our part and over time we become more educated about what other things we can do that will make a difference to our homes, our yards, our waterways, our land, and the Earth.

I will give you 3 very simple steps you can do to save energy, minimize toxins in your house, and in our environment, reduce waste, recycle, and save money.

My hope is that you get your kids involved. Tell them the reasons you should recycle, reuse items and save energy. When you get everyone in your household on board, they are usually great helpers.
Even kids can be conscious of saving water by turning it off when scrubbing hands, turning off the lights when you leave the room and helping to recycle.

  • Recycle Glass, Paper, Plastic-Reduce Waste
  • Reduce Toxins in Your House and in the Enviroment-Switch Cleaning Products

By now, most of you have probably heard that by changing from standard or halogen light bulbs to Compact Flourescent bulbs (even just 1 bulb) you can make a huge impact. So You Know Just How Big of an Impact?
If every American home replaced just one standard light bulb with a compact flourescent light bulb, we could save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for one year and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle- In many local municipalities, recycling bins are provided. In those cases, it is as easy as collecting glass bottles, certain plastic containers, and other recyclable materials separately in your home. For those of you that do not have pick-up recycling programs, you can take the bottles and plastics to a recycling center each week.

There many lines of house hold cleaning products that are healthier for you, your house, your pets, and the environment. So, read labels thoroughly before buying your household cleaning supplies.
There are many non-toxic, phosphate-free household cleaners today that you can pick up at a grocery store, Target, Walmart or most any other store.

By replacing your light bulbs you are saving money on lightbulbs because the bulbs last much longer and over time you will save money on your energy bill as you replace more and more bulbs. By recycling, you are reducing our waste in landfills and allowing those products to be reused in new products. Lastly, by switching your cleaning products, you are improving your family's living situation and the environment's.

Remember- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Live Greener!
