Giraffe Sandwich Recipe for Kids Jungle or Zoo Theme Party

As you've noticed, I'm sure, we love creating fun foods for kids and family.  Our real specialty is kids party sandwiches with a fun theme.  Here we show you how to make a cute Giraffe sandwich, perfect to make any day extra fun.  If you are thinking about a Jungle theme party or a Zoo theme party, this would be great as the main food for kids.  You can even let them have a "Make your own Sandwich" party ... just put a finished sandwich out so they can get the general idea.

To make the Giraffe Sandwich:

  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • Carrot rounds
  • Apple slice
  • Celery
  • Snap peas
  • Sandwich filling

Remove all crusts, then set one slice of bread on top of the other.  Cut out a large oval for the giraffe head and a curved neck.  Fill both sections with desired sandwich filling and assemble together on plate to form the giraffe.

Cut small rounds from a piece of carrot for the giraffe spots, eyes and knobs of horns.  Make ears from a piece of apple or other fruit or veggie.  Mouth and nostrils can be cut from any veggie or fruit scraps.  To make the branch, cut a thin slice of celery for the stem and use 2 snap peas or green beans for the leaves.  Garnish plate with a few “leafy” looking pieces of celery.
